As we read and hear the Gospels, we may also pray the Gospels—in an ancient form of prayer, the litanies. In these one-line prayers, we may call upon the Lord by his many given titles in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Their Gospels, in relating the many words and deeds of Christ, also provide other possible names by which to call out to him in prayer. You are invited to find Christ line by line in these litanies, through the chapters of the Gospels which are read during the liturgical year. Read more about Litanies and Gospel Litanies.
